Examinando dos autoras Latinoamericanas
Paper written for a Modern Spanish Literature course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison about female writers in modern Latin American literature and their lack of representation in the course content. In my essay, I explore how identity and modernity are represented in two poems: "Puerto supe" by Blanca Varela and "La lengua de Martí" by Gabriela Mistral. Throughout the essay, I argue that it is through the evolution of Latin American and individual identity that we see the progression of modern Latin American literature.
