I wrote this for an advanced Spanish literature and short story course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It discusses how Argentina's dictatorship past has affected its present society and specifically, its treatment of women. By analyzing two short stories by female Argentinian writers, I argue that the country's history of mixing reality and literature lives on, in that they reflect the current Argentinian women's movement against machismo and "feminicidios".
